A former New Labour apparatchik reveals that the government deliberately opened up the country to mass immigration for political purposes. Referring to a report in 2001 he says:

Eventually published in January 2001, the innocuously labelled "RDS Occasional Paper no. 67", "Migration: an economic and social analysis" focused heavily on the labour market case.

But the earlier drafts I saw also included a driving political purpose: that mass immigration was the way that the Government was going to make the UK truly multicultural.

I remember coming away from some discussions with the clear sense that the policy was intended - even if this wasn't its main purpose - to rub the Right's nose in diversity and render their arguments out of date. That seemed to me to be a manoeuvre too far.

Mr Neather seems a bit conflicted about all this because he still makes the case for migrants coming to London - as if there's any actual danger of them 'drying up'.

He talks about London being 'much more international now than, say, 15 years ago, and so much more heterogeneous than most of the provinces'. I lived in London 30 years ago and it was pretty bloody international then. Mr Neather also needs to get out into those benighted 'provinces' as well, some of which are (and have been for along time) pretty 'international' one way or the other.

Mr Neather has done us a great service in revealing what many people have long suspected, that New Labour's intentions have been to destroy our national identity (debates about 'Britishness', Mr Brown?). Unfortunately he himself is still floating around in that political class bubble: 'it's a question of genuine diversity now', he says. Words such as 'diversity' and 'multiculturalism' are the weasel words of the left. They're bullshit.

New Labour and the rest of the political class are busy not just changing the country but deliberately destroying it. We don't count. We're just the people. The BNP are just another bunch of wank-brained politicos but they've realised that people are really worried about lots of things, especially immigration, and have bothered to listen to them.

If you're a political party, you'll attract votes if you appear to be listening to people and taking them seriously instead of ignoring them or telling them to stop being stupid. How difficult can that be for the mainstream parties to understand?

British politics enters the realms of farce, as somebody called Bob Ainsworth, newly appointed minister for something or other, says Gordon Brown is not the problem, and the PM is apparently given a great reception at his meeting with the Parliamentary Labour Party, etc.

Meanwhile, the dirty leakage of truth about Brown's Stalinist tendencies: Environment Minister Jane Kennedy resigns after refusing to swear Brown loyalty oath.

Interesting to see that one of the new BNP MEPs is Andrew Brons, veteran of the National front era. I remember these chaps from my days in Leeds in the 1970s. Nasty bunch they were, as well. Poking around on the internet I found this article/memoir by one of the NF's footsoldiers. It's about an NF election 'meeting' in a Leeds school. I was one of the 'screaming mob of reds' who eventually chased the bastards down to the station afterwards (our particular route took us through the Merrion Centre, I believe).

At one stage Martin Webster was trapped on a street corner, protected by a small number of police (some on horseback) while the baying mob screamed "What's it like to be persecuted, Webster?" Not entirely a rhetorical question and one to which the sweating fat fascist had no reply.

Eventually Webster and the others managed to make it to the station area where they encountered football fans emerging from Elland Road. They may have thought they would be among friends but my recollection was that a football fan glassed Webster, who had to be taken to hospital.

It was interesting that nothing appeared in the media, despite the fact that this was a big demonstration and a large number of people (not just screaming reds) gave the NF a bloody good kicking.

Ah, great days.

Funtbag Flint In BNP Funk

Minister for Europe Caroline Funtbag Flint shows her shaky grasp of reality:

[The] minister has warned Labour MPs and trade unions they will play into the hands of the British National Party if they continue their campaign against companies they claim recruit "foreign workers" to undercut pay levels.

Surely it would be the other way round? If they refused to listen to people's fears about immigrants and jobs THEN people would turn to the BNP.

This is, of course, what is happening, since New Labour's supremos have told us to get on our bikes and go to Brussels for a job and that we've got to take the EU's laws whether we like them or not.

Same with the Royal Mail. And it's the same problem for the Conservatives. Interesting post about all this over at EU Referendum.
