Tories Offer Our Arse (Rebate) In Advance To The EU

Mark Francois, the shadow Europe minister, said that a Tory government would be willing to put Britain’s EU budget rebate, won by Margaret Thatcher in 1984, on the table...Mr Francois, himself a strong Eurosceptic, insisted that talking about the rebate was simply a sensible negotiating position. He also pledged to make a “much more robust defence of the rebate” than Labour had.

What a brilliant move! Tell the bastards in the EU what our bargaining strategy is well in advance, let them know we're stupid enough to reduce our rebate (again), then tell them we'll make the same mistake as before.
